Wish me lots of luck, I cannot wait to become an Airman and server to my country (cheesy, lol). Don’t forgive me for I should’ve come on sooner to give you my updated news about my Air Force process.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it in a previous post about DEP’ing in, in November but yes I DEP’d on the 9th of Nov. and long behold I finally got slotted!!! I was slotted in the beginning of Feb. I believe my AFSC is 9TA61 which is Administrative Aptitude Area, which means I’m going in Open Admin. For those of you that are unsure as to what going in Open Admin. means, it means that I don’t have a SET job when I arrive to BMT but I do have a SET category that I will be picking jobs from. So, while may I not have the job I want, I do have the opportunity to pick from a small list of administrative jobs. Administrative is a very hard area to book simply b/c they don’t need many people for that category. The fact that I got slotted for that so quickly was so very surprising to me, but I’m happy with that decision. I’m hoping, since I did score exceptionally high on that admin part of the asvab, that I can slot myself in Logistics Plan or Personnel, which were two of my top 10 jobs.
Anywho, on to the better part… I also received a ship date! I, Sabine, will be officially shipping out May 8th 2012!!! That is exactly:

Am I excited? hell yes!
Am I nervous? Yes, but not as much as I will be once I’m on the plane lol.

I have, once again, failed to update you all… So let’s get right to the point. On the 8th/ 9th I was scheduled to swear in again, 2nd and final attempt. I officially swore into DEP on the 9th and it was a grand experience. My grandmother actually decided to come through and witness it as well as take pictures. The best part of it all was that, usually you swear in with a group of people… But b/c I had finished my partial physical way ahead of schedule & had already spoken to my service liaison about jobs, I was able to swear in by myself! It seemed more special than anything b/c the captain was speaking directly to me as I had to repeat after him… I loved every minute of it. It almost brought my grandmother to tears lmao. Now, we wait… Again lol. I’ve submitted my jobs in and I now wait on word of when I’ll get slotted and receive my ship date. Finally things are going the way they are suppose to go. Hopefully I get a job that is at least in the top 5 of my list lol.
Anywho, I just came on to finally share the great news with you all. I really want to get back to blogging but between work and having no computer (I’m on an iPad) I just have no time and resources to do so. I’ll think of something and be back in no time.
I know I’ve been gone, with many good reasons, but again I’ve come back to give you an update. I’ve been working and my computer is still broken (and I really haven’t had the desire to purchase a new one lol). I know in my last post I mentioned that I was processing/ swearing in to DEP but sadly, with the luck that I’ve been having, I was “disqualified” due to poor eye sight lol. I laugh but it hit me really hard and I was so depressed b/c I wasn’t sure what route to take next. I’ve been working, partying, and maintaining a new relationship to keep my mind off things and it’s been working pretty well. So, fast fowarding to today… I just received a text msg from my recruiter that said exactly this: “I’m not able to call right now but just to let you know, you have been approved.” ««< DID YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY? READ IT AGAIN!!! You read right ladies & gentledudes, my “disqualification” was waived and I was accepted! Boy am I more than excited!!! I already told my ‘important’ people and they all asked me the same follow up question, “so what’s next?” Honestly, I don’t even know lol. I wait, like I’ve been doing. Wait, exercise, and get excited! My boyfriend is going to be so happy when I tell him (he’s sleeping, smh lol). My grandmother is unsure whether to be happy or sad lol, my mom is speechless, my dad is ecstatic, and my friend wants to go out and celebrate. I love all the people in my life. Life is just beginning. Thank you everyone who still continues to follow me here despite my lack of posts lol. I will be back in full force, believe me! I’m gonna buy a new hd camcorder b/c I’ve been wanting to take photos and life around me to the next level. Be back as soon as possible lol.
